At the Science Museum 'revelations' exhibition this week I was happy to find several of Berenice Abbott's prints. She worked at MIT in the late 50s and was commissioned to produce photographs illustrating the laws of physics for the Physical science Study Committee.
I have since found out , by reading the exhibition catalogue, that a book exists called ' Berenice Abbott: documenting science' Published in 2012 this contains many of her photos and is written by Jon Durant and Julia van Haaften.
