French Pavillion Venice Biennale 2015
A large Scotch pine roams the area of land just outside the Pavillion. Inside, a further two trees is free to move silently while visitors recline on rubber floors and relax watching this surreal tree dance. It has been described as a 'choreographic alchemy' by the exhibition's leaflet.
The trees move due to the variations in sap flow and the changes in light. In moving they produce a sound which creates a backdrop to the relaxing open air pavillion.
A must see if you are planning to visit the Biennale this year.
